Hello Katanakiteers!
(Okay, that intro's garbage. I'll think of something for another update.)
Turns out I didn't take this month off like I thought I might. Instead, I doubled down to get the book to the finish line, after talking with a friend about how to go about getting the book to editing, layout, and print. In short, in November I hired a developer/manager to go over the existing work, outline what needed to be done, give me a timeline to get the manuscript edit-ready by the beginning of February, so I can shoot for the book to be out by summer 2018. Having someone help structure what I should do, in which order, and what I can contract out is invaluable.
Enough preamble. I'd like to welcome developer maestro Jaym Gates to my motley crew. A bit about Jaym: She's an author, editor, and developer. She's worked on a number of properties including Firefly, Vampire, Blue Rose, and Tianxia. Jaym also edits anthologies and novels, and spends too much time thinking about how fantasy geology works.
Jaym's known me for years, gets my mix of humor and earnestness, and intimately understands the tone and intent of K&T. I'm excited to have her on board!
I'll have another build of the game out for y'all after it's edit-ready. It takes a considerable amount of time to turn a manuscript into a well-formatted playtest doc, so I'm going to focus on book progress before handing more play materials out.
